TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROAD – L-3625 Upper Road, Ballinacurra

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993, & Part 8 of Road Regulations 1994, Article 12 (sub article 6),  notice is hereby given that the urgent closure of the road as detailed below is necessary, in the interests of public safety.

Road to be Closed    The L-3625 Upper Road, Ballinacurra, from its junction with the L-3624 Main Street, Ballinacurra to its junction with the R629 Lower Road

Road Number:           L-3625

Alternative Route:     Via the R629, Lower Road, Ballinacurra and the L-3624 Main Street Ballinacurra.  This alternative route is also applicable in the reverse

Duration of works:     Indefinitely    

Reason for urgent closure:  In order to protect the public from dangerous building

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PUBLIC ROAD – L-2206-0 Coolmucky Bridge, Farnanes

Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993, & Part 8 of Road Regulations 1994, Article 12 (sub article 6),  notice is hereby given that the urgent closure of the road as detailed below is necessary, in the interests of public safety.

   Road to be Closed

The L-2206-0 from its junction with the N22 at Knockshanawee to its junction with the L-2216-25 at Coolmucky.

Alternative route:

Traffic from the South will divert at the junction with L-2216-25, travel west along the L-2216-25 to Cloughduv Village and then North on the L-2205-0 to the N22 at Ryecourt.

HGV’s to divert via the R585 at Castlemore Cross and the L-2216 to Cloughduv Village.

This alternative route is also applicable when travelling in the reverse.

Duration of closure:

From Monday 27^th February 2017 to Friday 2^nd June 2017 (24 Hours Daily).



Reason for closure:

Bridge in unsafe condition.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN under Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993 that the following roads will be closed to public traffic for the dates and times stated:





Ownahincha Road Trotting Races

Sunday 5^th March 2017

(12:00pm to 5.00pm)

    Road to be Closed:

The R598 from its junction with the N71 at Burgatia Cross to its junction with the L-8025-0 at Castlefreke Cross.

Road Number:

R598 (Part).



Alternative route:

From Rosscarbery to Castlefreke via the N71, at Tulligee turn right onto the R598 and travel south to Castlefreke.

From Burgatia to Ardfield via the N71, at Tulligee take the R598, at Milltown Bridge take the L-4008-0 and onto the L-4008-18.

From Little-Island/Ahaglaslin to Rosscarbery/Clonakilty via the L-8022-0, R598 and onto the N71.



This closure is to facilitate Road Trotting Races.
